SUNDAY MESSAGE SUMMARY
Living in the Power of God’s Grace - Part 1: God is For You, God Loves You
Ron Thomas
This week’s message is on Romans 8:31-39, where the Apostle Paul writes not from a place of theory, but from the struggles of real life. He knows what hardship and suffering are, but he also knows how to hold onto grace.
Paul lifts our eyes with these words:
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
That’s not wishful thinking. That’s the truth. You don’t just get through the hard stuff, but you overcome and grow in it. In Romans 8, we learn how Paul kept pressing forward. It was living from two foundational truths: God is for you, and God loves you.
Let that sink in: God is for you. Not just vaguely on your side. He’s actively, passionately for your good. Paul says it straight: “If God is for us, who can be against us?” That’s not a motivational line—it’s a declaration of divine commitment. God didn’t hold back His own Son. He gave Jesus for you. So what would He ever withhold now?
And not only is God for you, but God loves you. That’s the second truth that changes everything. It’s not a distant, conditional kind of love. This is a love that holds fast in every season, every failure, every fear. Paul lists everything that might try to separate us—death, life, angels, demons, present chaos, future unknowns—and says none of it can break the grip of God’s love.
This is the grace we stand in. When you feel weak, when life hits hard, when doubts creep in—remember: God is for you. He’s fighting for you. And God loves you. You are secure, seen, and sustained by that love.
Whatever you're facing, you can live not just as a survivor, but as more than a conqueror! Loved by God. Backed by God. Empowered by His Spirit. Walk in that truth. Live in the favour and the love of God. God is for you, and He loves you.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
