Hi church,

On the first Sunday of our 40 Days In Christ series, I asked you to write down the areas where you were seeking God for breakthrough and change. I also encouraged you to reflect at the end of the 40 days on what God has done in you.

As we prepare for day forty, can I invite you to take some time to reflect deeply on what the Lord has done in you and through you? My prayer is that everything we’ve been seeking is ultimately found in Christ.

For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.

Colossians 1:16-17 (NIV)

Here are some questions to consider in guiding your personal reflection:

» Looking back, what did I originally ask the Lord for, and how have I seen Him shaping my inner life (my attitudes, desires, habits, motives, or identity) in ways I expected or didn’t expect?

» What does living In Christ mean to me now, and was there a particular message or scripture that helped shape my understanding during the 40 days?

» Who was I praying for to find Christ, and how have I seen God at work in their lives, or in giving me opportunities to be part of their faith journey?

» How did fasting affect my daily rhythms of life, and did I become more attentive to the presence and voice of God during this time or not? Will I continue to practice regular fasting in the future?

Day 41…
We have had an enriching time praying together and meditating on scripture. The morning prayer has been so engaging and encouraging for many people. As the forty days come to an end, what will you be doing from day forty-one onwards?

» What can you do to build on the momentum of prayer and fasting to continue growing in your walk with God?

I am hearing there is a desire to continue doing something together as a church. I think this is great! We will be speaking with people to develop a church-wide prayer practice that is sustainable and engaging moving forward.

Blessings,

Adrian

For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
